Pancake Party

St Matthew’s gathered for another wonderful Pancake Party, as we started to think about Lent and Easter. The children engaged in amazing feats of balancing and flipping pancakes around obstacle courses. Everyone joined in for the decorating competition, although some found that the perfect looking design, might mean overdoing the sugar content!

Easter Eggstravaganza

One of the fantastic celebrations for Easter was our Eggstravaganza on Easter Saturday. The weather was fantastic and that allowed us to have full use of our garden for our Egg hunt. Before this, the children were involved in different crafts helping to plot Jesus’ last week from riding on a donkey to dying and rising again.

Tea & Chat Special

This week: An afternoon of live banjo music with the Steve Price Duo.

Steve Price is a local lad made good who went to Lawrence Weston School, failed to make the school orchestra on the cello so taught himself the banjo instead. He is a real character who has his own building company & is a channel swimmer in his spare time. He has swum all 3 channels around Great Britain. It should be a very entertaining afternoon as Steve ‘tells his story’ in between playing his selection of banjos.

Fireworks @ St. Matthew’s

The night sky around St. Matthew’s took on a bright and sparkling look for our Family fireworks night. Folk that braved the cold were treated to hot chocolate and hot dogs before venturing out for a loud and colourful set of fireworks. The fun continued with glow sticks and sparklers before the warm toasting of marshmallows completed a very enjoyable night, setting us up for the term ahead. Well done to Chris, Vanessa and team for all their hard work: It was spectacular.
