Alpha

The Alpha course is an opportunity for anyone to explore the Christian faith.

It’s relaxed, low key, friendly and fun with coffee/tea and cake together at the beginning of each session. Listen, learn, discuss and discover. Ask anything. Alpha is a place where no question is too simple or too hostile.

Following on from our ‘Contagious Christian’ series, we will be running an Alpha course at Rubicon Cafe on Chandos Road, Redland, BS6 6PF.

The course will run for 8 weeks from Weds 27th Jan—Weds 24th March, with a break for half-term. The evening will run from 7.30pm and finish by 9.30pm.

If you would like come on Alpha, bring someone along or find out more information, speak to Mat Ineson or Vicky Wright

This is for you if you are between 14 and 18 years old, and interested in exploring the Christian faith. An eight week course starting 22nd February 2010 7-9pm Monday evenings. Venue TBA

The Wounded Healer Course

The course will be in the Church at St Matthew’s and presented by Revd Karen Jones with support from the healing team. This will provide an opportunity for anyone in the congregation or beyond to join with the team in exploring Jesus’ teaching on healing and to receive some practical training in praying with others.

The day will start with coffee at 9.00am and finish at about 4.30pm.
Cost will be £5 which will cover refreshments and lunch together.

For more information or to book a place please speak to Gwynneth Pugh-Jones or Adam Kishtainy.

Christianity from Scratch

This is an introductory course to Christian faith, which assumes no prior knowledge by those who come along. It aims to introduce people to the core beliefs, practices and experiences of Christianity.

The course is being run by three local Anglican churches: St Matthew’s, Cotham Parish Church and St. Paul’s Church in Clifton and will be introduced and facilitated by people who belong to these churches.

Study TimeEach evening session will begin with a meal followed by a presentation for about 15–20 minutes and then discussion in groups. From session two we hope to end each evening with a short act of worship (which participants may or may not choose to join). By the end of the course, we hope that everyone will have a clear idea of the key ideas and implications of the Christian faith message. We also hope that the course will help people to decide for themselves whether the Christian faith is something for them.

If you are interested in the course, or want to know more, contact or the Church Office.
