We are fortunate to have a church building that is welcoming, light, warm and adaptable to our needs. Services take place in our upstairs worship area, which was created in 1989 following a major re-ordering of the building. The eggs on Easter dayThe “in the round” arrangement of the chairs encourages even a large number of people to feel together in worship in a way that is unthreatening to newcomers.

Hearing Aid Induction LoopWe have a good sound system and excellent acoustics. Extras for our older and younger visitors include a hearing aid loop, a lift as an alternative to the stairs and easy access to the crèche room. For morning and larger festival services we use a projection system for the words of hymns, songs and liturgy which avoids the need for a pile of books. Paper copies are available on request for those unable to use this facility.

Coffee after serviceDownstairs there is a large hall, used on most Sundays by the 3–11’s, and a smaller room used by a young people's group. There is also a fully equipped kitchen with servery.

Facilities for the DisabledDuring the week the hall is used by the St. Matthew's Playgroup, Toddlers Groups, Youth Club and Tea and Chat (a meeting for senior citizens). The hall makes an ideal venue for meetings, parties and use by the local community through events such as the Kingsdown Street Fair.
