Once again this year, St Matthew’s is working with a group of Anglican ordinands from Trinity College who are training for ordination as Church of England priests. As part of their contextual training they will have opportunities to become immersed in the life of St. Matthew’s, as well as engage in mission opportunities in the local community. The philosophy of this contextual training is that the students combine classroom study of theology at college with reflection and practical experience in a church context.
The students come with experience from their sending churches and, for some of them, that includes leadership experience. We will see them taking a leadership role and preaching and leading worship. Marcus Nelson is the local church supervisor and Andrew Lucas is their college tutor.
It is a great blessing and privilege to be involved with these wonderful people and to play a part in their training. We receive a lot from them and pray that they will be blessed through their time with us. We encourage you to get to know them and ask about their training and their future work and ministry.
The students for the year 2015–16 are;

- Rachel Greaves (2nd year)
