Kirsty Writes…

Kirsty Johns is taking on the role of Children’s Families and Youth Minister, she writes:

KirstyHello! My name is Kirsty and I’m the new Children’s, Families and Youth Minister here at St Matthew’s. I started at the end of September so I’m still very much settling in and getting to know people. It has been great visiting some of you within the church and I’ve certainly had more than my fair share of tea and biscuits so far!

Before I came to St Matthew’s I was working as a deputy pre-school leader in a nursery in Portishead having completed a degree in Early Childhood Studies at Plymouth University. I have always had a passion for working with children and families and am really excited to be sharing Jesus from the bible in my new role within such a loving Church family.

It was during my time at University that I really got to know and love Jesus Christ more as I received great teaching and got involved in my Church. I am excited to continue getting to know him better as I become more involved here at St Matthew’s both serving and learning and being encouraged by other Christians.

I appreciate your prayers in getting to grips with my new role and learn to work in a completely different environment to what I’ve been used to. Please pray for the children and young people, that they will grow and get to know Jesus better as the team continues to teach and get alongside them.

Every blessing, Kirsty
