Children’s, Families and Youth Minister

Children’s, Families & Youth Minister (£20-£26k depending on experience)

We are seeking a dynamic and engaging Children’s Families and Youth Minister to join the parish community of St Matthew’s Church, Bristol. You will be supported by our existing Youth Co-ordinator for 1 day per week and by our volunteer children’s and youth leaders. You would have a passion for the Church’s mission of ‘Living for Jesus: knowing, growing and going’.

St Matthew’s is a single church parish in Kingsdown; a diverse, busy area of central Bristol (ER 158, ASA 180). We are broadly evangelical, made up of varied traditions and churchmanship, embracing mixed worship styles. St Matthew’s is a sociable, welcoming church family and has identified Children and Youth as one of the three key focuses for its vision (the other two being discipleship and community).

You would be supported by an existing youth work co-ordinator for one day a week along with a number of volunteer children’s and youth leaders. We have an existing programme of work for our children, families and youth but are looking to grow this work; this post therefore provides an opportunity for the post-holder to help shape and grow the work of the church. You will report to the vicar Rev. Marcus Nelson who is to be licensed on 20th July.

Applications are by letter and CV. Closing date 8 July with interviews to be held mid-July. Please let us know in your letter any dates you are away in the last two weeks of July/early August.

For an informal discussion regarding the post please call the Church Office on 0117 944 1598 or email
