Christian Aid Week

Sunday, 10 May to Saturday, 16 May 2015

Christian Aid is the official development agency of 41 church denominations in Britain and Ireland and works to bring an end to poverty around the world. It currently works in 46 countries around the world. This year, the focus of Christian Aid week is ‘Delivering Hope’ and focuses specifically on discrimination against women. It highlights how practical help, such as owning a cow, can enable women to take back control of their lives by providing an income and a voice in their communities. A guest speaker is coming to join us for the service on May 10th to tell us more about the work of Christian Aid and there will be a cake sale afterwards.

Last year, house-to-house collecting raised £8m, 75% of the total money raised during Christian Aid Week. Please sign up to collect in the streets local to St Matthew’s during Christian Aid Week. For more information speak to Polly.
