Musician’s Training Day

Friday, 26 June to Saturday, 27 June 2009

Leading Worship through Music
A weekend for all St Matthew’s singers and instrumentalists.

This weekend is for you if you are involved or would like to become involved in leading the St Matthew’s community in musical worship.

Led by Peter Gunstone, a musician and worship leader. Cradled in the Charismatic Anglican tradition, he has gone on to explore music and other worship material from a wide range of traditions: choral, contemporary ‘worship music’, taizé, celtic, contemplative and alternative. He is currently the music director of St Andrew’s Church, Oxford.

Friday 26th June 7.30–9pm—Introductions, scene setting and worship. Followed by a drink together in the pub.

Saturday 27th June 10am–3pm (including lunch)—”Music feeds the worship of the whole community.” How can we best lead a broad variety of musical styles, integrate as a team and enhance the worship of St Matthew’s?

Explore worship, learning together and enjoy making music together.

This weekend will be paid for by the Church, but donations to costs are welcome.
